Food photography lovers came from all over Melbourne to attend our recent 2-day Food Photography & Styling workshop. A mix of first-time photographers, business people, restaurant owners, and social media influencers took a series of amazing photos. The hands-on nature of the workshop had students creating, styling and shooting dishes in no time. Their instructor, award-winning creative Fran Flynn, stepped them through camera angles, lighting, and the play of surfaces and textures. Fran’s introduction to editing and post-production was a feature for those looking to establish a professional presence on social media. A live, on location shoot at QT Hotel, Pascale Bar & Grill saw students stepping into their roles as food photographers, taking professional images for portfolios and social media. Dishes for photography and styling included golden brown waffles, sweet & savoury tarts, textural salads, and still life fruit & vegetables. Instructor Fran Flynn said “Sharing my skills with others and seeing them delight in their progress is incredibly rewarding. My aim is to help every individual take a giant leap forward during this workshop, no matter what their initial ability - and witnessing how quickly everyone develops is fantastic.” Our students’ work is available for viewing on Instagram at hashtag lcbphotoworkshop18.
